Tilla went to her new home in Hampshire today, we have had such a saga selling her, the second people that came to see her wanted her (seemed too easy at the time!), the Vet was arranged for the following week. He arrived an hour late and put a measuring stick (home made!) straight on her, he said she was nearly 15hh so wouldnt continue vetting!
I called Purchaser and explained, we agreed to get her a JMB certificate, so arranged farrier to take off shoes and trim feet, took an afternoon off work and took her to Bushy where Ian Cam was excellent, put her straight at ease and she measured 147cm so was 1cm under (14.2). called Purchaser gave good news, vet arranged to come back the following week.
He arrived to vet her 40 minutes late and took forever about it, did flexion tests, ridden work etc then walked her out to road for final flexion tests, she stood on a stone (no shoes on due to measuring) and went lame! so he couldnt pass her.
Called purchaser said she had never been lame (which we advised her to call our vet to confirm), said it was just a slight bruise, she still wanted tilla so agreed to wait for her to be sound then got shoes back on her then we had to get our vet out to see her and call purchasers vet to confirm she was sound, then he came back for a 3rd time, again he was late but this time he passed her!
They picked her up today, she loaded straight away, we followed them to see where she was going and to check she settled, she walked down the ramp happy as larry then they turned her out and she just grazed, just had a text to say they hacked her out this evening and she was perfect and that she was settled and happy for the night. So a long drawn out experience but worth it in the end!
