Time frames for reaction to eating lots of nice green grass?

My pony managed to break out of his pretty much grass free track at some point last night into an area of fairly lush green grass. Yard owner doesn't know how long he was out but she found two lots of poo. He had a previous bout of laminitis a few years ago and has had impaction colic before. His gut isn't his strong point. He's on soaked hay and has been, and will be given, Quick Fix for a few days. I've also started him on Global Herbs Lamipro Liquid. How long would you expect to wait if any reaction was going to happen and can anyone suggest any other strategies to help?

When that happened to some of the riding school ponies I could feel pulses the next day.

Activated charcoal is now in my cabinet for these kind of situations. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks. I'm cross because I've run out of charcoal. Were the ponies all ok?

Such a worry. I had the same Friday night. I turned my lot out, tiny pony had his muzzle for the first time as I know the grass is starting to come through.
At about 8pm I took the dogs into the yard for a quick run/ toilet and noticed my old pony was yelling, he’s like the little tell tale of the gang, anything out of the usual he shouts.
So over o went with a torch and sure enough littlest was missing. Located two fields over munching on green grass 😳
Luckily as above he was muzzled but even so!

My experience is that his pulses would be up with 12-24 hours if he was going to have a problem.

How is he today?

Thanks. That's useful to know. I've had a message from the yard owner to say he's OK this morning. The worry is that I can't go every day because he's quite a distance. I'm desperately trying to find somewhere closer to home but with all his health issues it's seems impossible to do.
