i read a thread on here a while ago about horses rubbing their heads on the their owners... i now have a very good reason to put a stop to it!
Ive worked endlessly hard to complete my orders so that i could get some time with my wonderfull ginger minger before an exhibition coming up this weekend. I finished early today and for once the weather was perfect for a nice hack on the minger...
I gave him a quick shampoo and set and tarted him up a bit for the special event then climed onto the mounting block to do his mane. He rubbed his head on me and i lost my footing. i then managed a backflip over the rope and landed on my head. there was an impressive amount of blood and also an odd shaped swolen and bruised finger. i have been glued back together and made a mental note to stop the head rubbing. you learn as you go i suppose. ive been to see him tonight and i have to say he seemed to have toned it down a bit...It has to be a first though... knocked out by falling off.... a mounting block?Excuse the prattling on still seeing fuzzy (though not double any more)

Goodness me, I'm sorry you hurt yourself so badly! I never, ever let my horse rub his face on me, not in the field and not with tack on. Mainly because it hurts and I don't want slobber on me, but just because I don't like him doing it.

Poor you, glad you can see the funny side!! ;-)

Head rubbing hurts, even before you do the back flip and land on your head!! x x
