Can't believe it... been on such a journey with my Mare the past couple mths ... some of you may know me re anything to do with confidence issues.....Nasty nasty accident a LONG time ago , only back riding about 9mths now, bought my horse 6mths ago ( yes I know Im a bit mad )

BUT my fab instructor who is more of a Coach I would say thinks we are now good enough of a team & is going out of her way to really push me on - have never ever had such an amazing coach, she is firm but fair & never objects to calls/texts for advice inbetween lessons etc...

So.... We are going out to do some Clear round jumping on Sunday

our first Dressage competition in couple wks:eek:

& doing some hunter trials at end of December:eek:

I can't believe that I actually teared up earlier today - in the privacy of my Mares stable with her looking @ me as if I was mad - we are really really getting there & I just can't believe it..... to cut a long story short, my Dad passed away a couple of years ago & I bought her with some Money I inherited - I had the money tucked away & for some reason when I viewed my Mare ( after trying a few ) I knew it was the right decision about what to spend the money on... Im sure my Dad will be looking down on us on Sunday & am sure I will picture him with his knuckles going white from gripping onto the arena fence everytime I jumped as a child:)

Your story made me tear up a bit too! your dad will be watching and will be proud of you for being gutsy and trying this no matter how you get on. I shall wish you lots of luck. Don't hold your breath as that doesn't help! try to enjoy it if you can. Focus on how you'll feel after, that might help too!

When I start competing I am going to have a large glass of rose before I get on ;)

Please let us know how it goes!

I'm sure your Dad will indeed be watching and be so proud of you, one of my late Mums last outings with the family was to watch me compete at a little local show, something I will always treasure.

Fantastic, you are doing brilliantly with her.
I do follow your posts with interest after reading your experiences, and from where you were, to where you are now is such a huge achievement.
Lack of confidence is so hard to overcome, so well done to the both of you.

Did you go ahead and purchase the horse you mentioned previously?

Thanks KVH, have made decision just to carry on with my Mare, I don't want to mess her up and she really does need 100 percent of my focus and I really really want to get places with her , ultimate goal is 2 event and put sensible hat on for now but will re- evaluate next year though horse in question.
