Thought I found the right horse share: it’s a pony at a new riding school, £20 a week for three days, no chores, just ride and help out around the yard. Turn up today for my first day today and there are kids everywhere! The YO had forgotten to text me to let me know I couldn’t ride on my designated day, (she had been ill) but it was something to do with the wet weather that the local kids needed to ride at the yard and also using the horse I was meant to be sharing as well. I feel disappointed as I’d been looking forward to it all weekend and feel I was pushed aside. It occurred to me that I will probably have this problem during the school holidays, (I’d forgotten it’s half term this week) and the yard only has one small indoor school which will probably be in use most of the day. I thought I might try and book a last minute lesson at my local riding school but they’re fully booked because of half term so I can’t even ride today! It’s times like these I wish I had my own horse! Feeling very miffed and not sure if I should just stick with lessons at a riding school, (I’m currently paying £32 for a one hour private lesson with a junior instructor who's not qualified to teach me to jump) and maybe save up and look for a loan or my own horse in a couple of year’s time as I’m not having a lot of luck with finding the right share
