I know I'm probably annoying you all now (I'm annoying myself!).

Does anyone know a source of Timothy hay chaff at a reasonable price? I was about to place an order with Halleys, but they've just updated the website - and prices. Surely £14.32 for 15kg of Timothy hay (nothing at all else in it!) is taking the mick? *sigh* :(

I know, it's daft. I was just about prepared to pay £25 for two, or however much it was before, but £14 each is just getting silly :(.

I agree- was just looking at the oat chaff- over 14 quid a bag.
I suppose it is the cost of delivery etc- but then it must be ridiculous to bring forage from Scotland to Surrey when farmers produce hay just round the corner.

Lol, wagtail! It would be useful, that's for sure. Not so sure it would be welcome on a livery yard, though. Where I am now there'd be no space for it anyway... unless I leave it in the field, but I can see that going all kinds of crazy.

Why are there so few suppliers of plain old chaff? Is it something farmers would do for you, for a price?
