Tinkerdog is 9, and up until now, has been housetrained.

However, in the last week, 3 times I have found a puddle of wee in her room in the morning. At first I thought she'd been left too long/hadn't heard her barking, so made sure I got her out earlier. However, there was still an accident and then yesterday she peed in the middle of the day, after being shut in her room as we had a visitor who didn't like dogs.

Now, she had a bladder infection before Christmas, was given a course of AntiBs, and on return visit, vet said she was fine.

No other symptoms, the pee is normal and during the day she doesn't seem to want to go out more than usual.

Medical? Or behavioural? I don't want to anthrowhatsit

her, but it almost seems like a protest thing, due to the being shut away.

But that may sound daft

Dougal dog is no longer here, so could the upset/change have prompted something like this?

Very confused, as although never having been housetrained as we got her at 6 months and she lived outside for the first 2 years, shes never had an accident except once when Dougal first arrived as a pup, and then when I first realised the bladder infection.

Any ideas?

She could be incontinent and unaware she is actually peeing....u will find this more so in her bed or space she lies in....there is medication for incontinence, also maybe worth taking a pee sample to vets to rule out another infection.

That did cross my mind, but would't she be having more accidents during the day?

All the puddles have been near the doorway, away from her bedding.

Think I may toddle her along to the vets as well, just in case. Although still not paid dad back for first visit

If near the door way.....it seems like she is getting caught short, and may indicate a urine infection, sometimes a change/disturbing/anxiety usual routine can cause dogs to begn to urinate or deficate, so could be the other dog going, does she drink more than usual?
In te older years they cannot hold like they used to my old girl will urinate someetimes in her bed or literaly on the floor if I have popped out for a few hours and have let her out b4 hand..........would she crate, so u could see if she would hold in a smaller space?

Thanks

Will pop her to the vets to rule that out again.

Doesn't appear to be drinking any more than usual. Think we still have a crate knocking about somwhere so will try that out.
