My not quite 2yr old daughter is really enjoying sitting on william to the point where she quite likes him to go for a walk with her, obviously i hold her on ( although privately i get the impression she doesnt feel its necessary !)and i am wondering about head wear for her. Does anybody know what is the smallest lightest riding hat available and at what measurement does it start i have a feeling she will still be far too small for one but wondered what other people know. and also Ditto steel toe cap riding boots?

Children shouldnt wear hats until they are older according to medical bods and the riding hat industry as their neck muscles arent strong enough. From what i remember they suggest a cycle helmet , its light weight and designed for even the smallest person . Also its not as tho she's galloping around , you are there and holding on to her and pony/horse .

Yep I second the cycle helmet idea. Her neck won't be strong enough to support her head and a hat yet.

I think the smallest out there is a 000. My 18mth old niece wears one but couldnt tell you what brand it is. Take your nipper to your local saddlers for sizing though, even if you buy elsewhere you'll know the right size.

If you are just trundling around , but its up to you , your child ,pony your decision . You can call a couple of hat manufacturers to help make up your mind and your GP ?
