Tonight was the weekly jumping night at the yard, and I decided that because I'll be on holiday for the last one of the season next week, I'd better enter something this week :) so I took Dylan into the Novice Horse class (60-70cms). Bear in mind we don't do a lot of jumping, because I'm a total wuss and he's a hooligan lol.

He was - as always - a perfect gentleman warming up in the indoor, lovely and relaxed, popped the jumps quite happily, walking round on a loose rein and actually making some nice shapes on the flat for once. But I was not fooled by his apparent good behaviour. We were last to be called in for the Novice, and as soon as we were through the gate the head was up, the ears were pricked, and he grew about a hand and a half! We trotted round most of the course, apart from the two bits of the combination that we jumped from a standstill(!), and surprisingly enough we were clear :p there were only 4 clear rounds out of the 11 people jumping, so I figured even if we trashed the jump off we'd get a rosette, but we went clear again and came 3rd so we have a lovely shiny yellow ribbon to add to our (small) collection :D

I'm so proud of my baby, six months ago I'd never have dreamed of doing that on him!

Obligatory pretty photo (excuse his scary eyes, it was dark)
