Tiny lumps on muzzle, skin flaking away.

So we recently moved our horses into the summer field.. I would say around 2-4 weeks ago. My horse had caught himself , I believe on some bushes in the other field and these has scabbed over, they small cuts were around his muzzle. However last week I noticed my horse had a few very small lumps on his muzzle near were he caught himself before. I brushed the fur back the wrong way and bits of... skin flaked away. I was left with the photo afterwards. However now I have noticed he has a few more of these little lumps around his muzzle. He has never had anything like this before. Would you think its an allergic reaction? My vet is coming to the yard in a few weeks. Do you think it would be a wise idea to get him to take a look?

You can put it in the albums on here but I can never remember how to do that. If photo is set to public on facebook, right click on it and then click on copy photo url then do what you have done above and paste the link between
with no gaps between any of it. It will be quite a long url, about 3 lines!

Have seen the photo, not very easy to see as quite small. Does he have any little blisters/sores on his lips? Is his muzzle going bald? It could be an allergic reaction but I will tell you about my horse. He had funny little scabby things on his muzzle on and off for 9 months, also he would get little blisters on his lips, these would last two or three days then heal but reappear a few days later. His lips were very pink at times and flakey looking almost like sunburn which was odd for a brown skinned horse, also his whole muzzle went bald and was getting lighter and lighter (he is a coloured type horse not solid). A couple of months ago I wormed him for tapeworm and then a few days later for liver fluke, 5 weeks later no scabby things and his muzzle and lips went all hairy and still are, no more scabs and his lips are back to darker skin not pink.
 
Thought I would let you all know. My vet came down to have a look. He said its a bacterial infection, thay lives on the skin brought on by his muzzle getting wet, from the drew off the grass. In short it's rain scald.
