my gelding has developed tiny little red dots on his tummy just in front of the sheath, they look like minute droplets of blood as if he has prickled himself, but been there for a week now.
are they a type of mite? (i can't get close enough to scrape them off) my friend thought they may be due to flies biting

any suggestions?

My chap has loads of little holes/bites on his rubbery bits, which i didnt notice until i got the soapy sponge up there yesterday. quick wipe over with a flywipe now should help to keep the pesky things away. grr, if its not muddy legs its bitten nads!
