Hi,
Me and mi familia are going burghley tomorrow for the xc and just wondered if you had any tips or anything ..?

We're not really sure about timings ,like when to arrive ,when the action starts or when we can expect to be back... We also dont know... Will it be unrealistic to try to see most of the fences? They seem quite spread out but ....maybe its poss?
Anything else? Thanksss!!!

The shopping village opens at 9 and first horse goes at 11 (I think). My friend and I are aiming to get there about 9.30 so we can do some shopping before the horses go!

It's not unrealistic to see all jumps, I usually get round most of them but somehow always manage to miss 2 or 3, but I'm sure if you buy a programme or something with a map in you could do it as I just guess where I'm going.
It is a lot of walking but well worth it! Definitely check the shopping village out too!

Set off a bit earlier than usual as a stretch of the A1 is closed.

I usually walk the course backwards, stopping for lunch whenever I'm closest to the car :D and I always see all the fences. And that's with a leisurely pace/watching a good few at each fence and then sat watching one fence till the end.

Bring food, as like all places it is a complete rip off!

If you want to shop get there early as its less crowded.

Oh and if you can, spend some time in Stamford, it's lovely :)
