It will be her first working hunter on a new pony (13.2 and under, jumps 2'0)

We have brown tack (black girth though). Daughter has green tweed jacket, navy hat cover, chaps and boots (do we need clips?) boots are black. White shirt, pony club tie, hairnet.

I presume we need to plait him (cob x) which I am dreading as he has a very bushy mane :o

Not sure on shoe attire but for his mane needle and thread it, with some cheap hair gel in, plenty of YouTube tutorials on it :) I plaited my cob the other day with thread and it stayed in all the night before and all day eventing :)

Thanks supercoblet, I have never done it with a needle and thread but have always wanted to learn - I presume it is more robust than with the bands?

If its a local show I wouldn't worry too much as what you have got sounds fine. My daughter does have clips for her jodhpur boots although we tend to go through them because they always break but generally the kids do wear them. I don't plait as my lad has a very thick mane and I like it long, he's a connie x so I always say he's a native that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it lol. It does look nice to see them plaited but for local shows its not essential. Good luck

If the pony looks native I'd be tempted not to plait. It's always nice to have some mane to grab if necessary! Also you don't need to stress about plaits falling out then. Maybe you could post a pic of the pony to help with advice? Hope they have lots of fun whatever you decide.
