My cob is obese at the moment - no better way to describe it!

3 months ago he was properly weighed and it was advised that he was perfect and shoudn't lose or gain any more.

Unfortunately, I injured myself and couldn't ride properly for about 5 weeks and am only now just getting back into it. In that time his weight has ballooned despite being brought in off the grass for 7 to 12 hours per day.

I've started muzzling him again but since I've hogged his mane he seems to find it very easy to get the muzzle off.

Is there anything I can do to try and keep it on? I tried putting a fly mask on over the top of it but the little toad got that off too!!

Try making sure that it is tight and that the "throatlash" part is is tight and and in the same place as a bridle throatlash so quite far back.

Which sort of muzzle is it? One of ours can get his muzzle off within seconds but we've managed to find a field headcollar to put over the top which seems to have stopped him removing it for the time being! It's not ideal as it looks quite bulky but the headcollar we use is lightweight and he isn't out for long.
