water trug!

Don't have running water (have stream through yard so can't use automatic drinkers) Has anyone come up with a cunning plan to stop youngster from playing with water?

Put the bucket in a tyre :D
90% fool proof!

Have to say my baby did still manage to tip bucket AND tyre over on occasion so now bucket is tied to the fence ... :)

Sorry I wasn't clear lol, he's not knocking it over, he is picking it up in his mouth and throwing it around!

Oh I see....yep mine does that too lol!
Tying to fence has sorted that out though.

Or perhaps put something heavy in the bottom?

ETA - that is how he got his name, Charlie Bucket!

oh... ive had this problem with mine since she was 6 months old!

i screwed a tie ring on the wall in stable level with the handle of water trug and i tie the handle to it every night.it was the only thing that stopped her in her tracks!!
if in feild, put a tie ring on a wooden post and tie.

Breeze block at the bottom will stop him. Also consider screwing it to the wall (easy enough with a wooden wall and plastic flexible bucket. You could use a wing-nut bolt or similar to make it easy to do up/undo. And a tyre to stop him tipping it.

We screwed it today with large screws and washers directly through the trug, remember it is very heavy when full as large trug, and he ripped it clean off the wall :-(

He is so strong, it was like he was picking up an empty crisp packet!

In that case build a wooden hay bar in the corner and put the bucket it that. Make it so it's tight and put a couple of wooden battons over the top, like a foal feeding bucket so he can get his nose into the water but not get at the rim of the bucket.
