Thought this might be a useful thread to start...

My daughter is 7, and has been on hound exercise and cubbing this year, which were a big hit. I am taking her to our hunt's newcomers meet next weekend. There is a non jumping group and it should be a bit more sedate than a proper hunt. Hoping to take her to the childrens meets later in the season as well.

I have a steady horse who's bum she can use for brakes, and her pony doesn't hot up, following my horse nicely, and standing when required. I will be filling her pockets with sweeties, and putting lots of warm clothes on her. Am using a lead rein as her neck strap for any emegencies.

Any other tips?

A spare pair of gloves (wet cold hands are no fun as a grown up, let alone at 7), a peice of paper with Mummy's name and phone number incase you get seperated, and a spare leadrope on your saddle.
