Tips for the winter !!

I have just got my first horse and this is my first winter any tips to help me get through it ??

Seven day mud away spray- Love the stuff tho it smells bad! Winters not all that bad! I almost prefer it...just enjoy the snuggly stables and frosty mornings (if we get any!)

Assuming you stable your horse at night - don't bother buying indoor stable rugs. Use turnout rugs instead, which are all breathable nowadays. You won't get pee stains going through and it will keep your horse clean and save on rug cleaning bills.

tail bags are great for turnout keeping that tail nice and clean especially when they have a massive thick tail like mine!

I would say, remember horses are outdoor animals and much as we like to be inside, snug, warm and cosy, horses still prefer the freedom of the outdoors rather than the confinement of a cage (stable) for 24 hours a day.
