My instructor always said if you end up turning your toes out it is usually because you are gripping somewhere else. He always says the more relaxed you are the more likely you are to achieve a good position.

Relax your buttocks.

Im trying to put this in a non offensive way....erm....allow your bottom 'hole' to touch the saddle....does that make sense? You need to relax the whole leg from the pelvis down, that should help release the tension in your lower leg and ankles and, in theory, help with the toe turning.

The way I deal with toes out is not to try and turn your toes in but to concentrate more on turning your heels out which automatically points your toes forward - if that makes any sense! Try it in walk/trot and you'll see what I mean

Yep - def think about pressing your heels out against imaginery pressure... it then helps with the angle of the whole leg muscle, not just trying to pull your toes in, which is the last symptom of the problem, not the cause which is the rotation of the whole leg from the hip joint.
