I have a 6yr old bay welsh cob that i would like to in-hand show at local junior level. i'm new to showing so needing a bit of advice. Any show day tips for preperation, training and rider clothes. I have a navy show jacket, beige jods, shirt, navy tie, short jod boots and navy velvet hat. is this ok? Anything to do with showing welcome.

You will find lots of info on here if you search old posts.
With regards to schooling your pony, make sure he does a nice walk beside you, not lazy, you should be positioned next to his shoulder, and teach him to trot on command, use your voice don't just start jogging and expect him to start trotting. Try to teach him to stand square for when you are in the line up and when you stand him in front of the judge.
Your turnout sounded okay except a solid colour jacket is incorrect for M&M classes both in hand and ridden you need to wear a tweed jacket, although for in hand you could wear a waistcoat without a jacket.
Hope this helps?
Good luck and have fun!
