Hi all, my horse was diagnosed last week with an absorption deficiency, only absorbing about 26% of his nutrients. The usual course of treatment would be steroids but due to his age, being 30, we tested him for cushings. I've got the results back today and his reading was 220 acth instead of the usual 47 at this time of year. So now he cannot go on steriods and will begin treatment for the cushings starting tomorrow. Is there any tips on keeping a horse with these two diseases or tips for one or the other? He's underweight and doesn't put it on so suggestions for diet? He's currently on Dodson and Horrell cushcare, spillers conditioning chaff, high fibre, corn oil, micronised linseed and probiotic vitamins and minerals.
