Hey everyone! Can i please have some tips on in-hand showing? I am new to it, and I have entered in a fairly novice show soon, so I was wondering if anyone has any tips and tricks that I could use? Or if anyone could tell me what will happen and what I will have to do? I have been practising, with the help of an experienced friend, but I have never been to one or seen one before, apart from videos, so any tips would be greatly appreciated! :D
Thanks!
Kath :)

Its the little details that count for me. Trim the corner of the edge of your numbers so its rounded and use a thin piece of elastic to attach around you so its 'invisible'. Baby oil there nose eyes knees and hocks. Paint there feet the right colour (clear/black). Hairspray or gel any fly away hairs, including yours! If appropraite make sure they are all trimmed from the tip of there ears to the tip of there feet. Follow someone else into the ring so you know what to do. Always wear a smile! Thats all i can think of at the moment and sorry for the rubbish typing im on my phone! Good luck and enjoy it!

From what I remember...and I hope it's right because I have a show coming up in a couple of weeks .......everyone enters the ring and goes left, you all walk round then the judge will ask everyone to stop and one by one you trot round the ring to the back of the line, you then walk round again keeping an eye on the judge as they will then call everyone individually into the middle, you then take turns taking your horse to stand before the judge....make sure they stand properly...you then walk away from the judge a little way then turn and trot back towards them...usually straight at them they will move :D.....keep trotting as you go past then take your place back in the line, when everyone has done this you all 'go large' again, the judge will then call you in in final order. What type of horse do you have? breed and type can alter the way they should be turned out.

If he's a Newfie then he's shown 'natural' so just tidy him up a bit. At least you won't have to worry about plaiting :)
