Trying to renew lottie's insurance and no one will cover her for any more than 'external injury'. Thing is at her age, if she gets injured and needs vet treatment costing more than the fairly high xs I won't put her through it. Total waste of time so i'm joining bhs instead. She's 32 but in relatively good health and no history of illness or injury until her 30's and no previous claim for anything. I want cover for the sorts of illness older horses may suffer from but she's not covered for anything. :-( grumble done. Thanks for listening. Cake for all.

TBH i've got my mare on a veteran policy, and put the difference away, if you've never claimed, you might end up better off...

Did you manage to get her insured untill this year as my vets cover was stopped at the age of 20 for my mare, and is only covered for accidental injury from now on. I know most companies stop illness cover at 16 years old. so you have done very well getting illness cover untill 30, unless I have read it wrong.:)

She's covered for another couple weeks but only e and l that we could find would cover over 30 and virtually everything is specifically excluded. Bhs will give me public liability and i'll pay any vet bills which is what i've had to do anyway due to the exclusions.
