Well I never knew the film was in making let alone being premiered.

Steven Spielberg's War Horse will be one hell of a tear jerker, I've not been lucky enough to see the play but I'll certainly be looking forward and making every effort to watch it when it comes into our cinemas.

Here's a little tease taken from the Daily Mail :)

Can't wait!

Hmmm I think I might have to follow suit and wait for the DVD as well, good thinking!

I’ve shed tears watching Ice Age on TV and well Marley & Me left me devastated and emotionally drained for days on end, so there’s no hope for me watching anything sad about a horse in the Cinema is there

….although *cunning thought* there’s a perfect opportunity to publically embarrass my husband to high heaven by balling my way through it. :D

They filmed it where Mum walks her dogs (in Surrey).

She went along to watch some of the filming and even though she is not horsey she said that she was in floods despite it obviously being disjointed (as filming is) and without the effects etc.

Went to see it at the theatre for my hen do last year and cried from the moment they bought Joey right through to the end!!

Can't wait to see it. Will be balling my eyes out when I go!

I am sad however, that they haven't put the song in from the stage show? I'm hoping it will be in the film somewhere. It's such a gorgeous song I'd love to hear it in the film too.

This is the song (ignore the video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mv4Wdew4AfI

Oooh thank you for posting that, I’ve not had chance to listen to the link yet (at work:rolleyes:) but will take a listen later on, seen as we are talking of sad movie music, the sound tracks on the film Gladiator really get me going, really beautiful and heart touching lyrics but by god so very sad all at the same time!

I for one will not be watching, 1 because i can't handle horses being hurt in films, and 2 because my great grandad was a wheeler in the royal horse artillery and didn't survive the war :(

Yes I can understand how hard and upsetting it would be to watch the film ((hugs))

That horse is a magician, he changed his face markings at least twice during the trailer

Will not be going to see this with my OH as he will howl the whole way through

i will be watching it when it comes out. i nearly cried just watching the trailer!

Me too! And i've never even read the book!
I think it was the sheer bravery that was coming across (running and jumping through mortars and gunfire) that got me going. I know it's fiction but i'm sure there are brave horses and ponies that would walk over hot coals for their owners and the thought of it makes me feel proud from a distance. Soppy b****r that I am :D
And i'm not even a big crier usually ha ha!

Somebody started a post in soapbox about the book. I'd purposely not read it..............then I had to! Read it in one sitting, was in a total soggy mess at the end of it.
I can't wait to see it at the cinema, I love bawling at the big screen (masochistic?). Trouble will be finding somebody to go with after The Time Traveller's Wife soggy mess experience!

Well having just watched that trailer and burst into tears, there's no way I'll be going to see that film!

I listened to the play on Radio 4 Extra a couple of weeks ago and that made me sob too. Definitely not seeing the film!
