:eek: took daughter to a SJ training night last night. You pay £15 and get three rounds and help if you need it.

I asked them to out the jumps on the ground and I should have got the planks put flat but well you live and learn :o

She did one round on the lead rein (and fell off at the planks, pics below show why!)

I didn't actually realise she was falling off as I'd glanced round and she was still on when he landed :o. To his credit, he did stop when she was mid tumble!

(And yes, she is sitting very squint, this is why I bought new saddle but she is as squint as ever, stirrups are definitely the same length, any suggestions on getting her to sit straight!?)

Aww, lovely :D

As for the squintness - does she hold one leg straighter that the other? Little kiddies have a tendency to lock one leg straighter than the other and they can't really feel that they are doing it.

We went with friends last night who have not experienced going places with the dinky twosome before. I said, everyone will look at us and some folk may cry. Went round the corner and you could hear everyone going awwww look at that!!!! :o :D

Yes that is exactly what she does!!! Will she just come out of it herself?

Yes, she'll become more body conscious. All you can do is just keep reminding to bend the offending leg and put it back in the right position for her when she gets really on the skunt.

AWWW, cuteness overload. What a great combination, you must be so proud of them both :) I loved the hacking video, but this one is fab! I usually lurk but couldn't watch and leave without comment....... disappears off to poo pick with a smile on my face :)

With the sitting squint, my daughter is doing this too, I'm blaming the cub saddle :p as she doesn't do it bareback ( she nearly slipped so it taught her to sit straight without a saddle!) If I put her straight she soon goes wonky again. Must check her right leg she may be locking it too. What size saddle is yours Ffion? Trying to work out which size zoe saddle to get as pony is 12 hh but daughter only 2 lol
 
Sorry folks will have to re upload the pics in a bit. How annoying.

Zigzag that's a 14". Its too big for him but growing room for her. Zoe told me as its soft, it doesn't matter if its too long for him.

To be honest tho as you have a normal sized pony I'd stick with the cub for a wee while then just get a normal saddle. This one has no support at all other than the stirrups so she is practically jumping bareback!
 
Yes that's a good point, maybe able to get a 15 inch saddle. regarding your daughter, to me her stirrups look a tad long so she os reaching for them, maybe up a hole? Does she ride your 13.2 at all? She may find it easier to rise on the bigger pony, the shetlands tend to be so quick the kid is up and pony done two stirde before they come down again

Lol no neither did I :o. Well actually I knew he could over jump as he's done it before but not as bad as that. More jumping practice for him (sans rider!)

'twas a wee bit bigger than you might want when you are 4, but she watched herself fall off about 15times and laughed raucously

and told me she likes falling off (obviously I've gone a but far with the jolly hockey sticks routine when she falls off!!). I told her you don't get a rosette normally if you fall off so she has to stick on if she wants one (which she badly does!!)

Thanks, yes I am proud, she is much further on than I was at 4 :)
