TMJ joint issues

Could any one who has experienced issues with TMJ joints PM me? good or bad!

I am currently in a situation and other peoples experiences/ advice would really help.

My horse dentist has sent a few clients to the big vet hospital in Leicestershire for steroid injections into the TMJ joint. It is an unusual treatment, but this vet has done quite a few, and the dentist tells me the results are fantastic.

Forget the name of the hospital, but if you tell it me I would recognise it!!!

I've had a horse injected with steroids into the TMJ. Made a huge difference. He was unable to eat hay beforehand, but was back to stuffing his face very quickly!

Wish they had worked for mine, made absolutely no difference in my case

He was retired, so no idea, I'm afraid.

If your horse has TMJ issues, make sure the the hyoid is checked as well.

Its the joint between the jaw bone and the rest of the skull - you can see it moving below the ears when the horse chews
