To all of those who had the strangles vaccines....

Hello Guys

To all of you who had your strangles jabs last year only to be told that they were rubbish and were taken off the market - I URGE you all to make sure you claim your money back off your vet. It seems that most vets have tried to fob off customers and inform them that as soon as the vaccines are back - they will redo them all again - obviously free of charge, or even worse - havent said a thing!!!!

I paid for three horses last year for the vaccine and only remembered about the situation when I saw that Intravet who makes the injections, have informed the BHS that it will be five years until a new vaccine is back on the market.

Under the sale of goods act - you are entitled to not only your money but call out fees as well - so please if you are out of pocket - call your vet called and get the money. I have recieved a nice chunky cheque of my vets today with my money back (I have three horses done) - as have the rest of my yard. With the vaccines working out at 22 - 40 quid per jab - its money worth chasing after.

Thank you I had 3 done but had flu/tet at the same time so not sure how much I should get back and my vet stopped doing horses so I don't use them anymore.Did the vets gat the money back then?

dont worry about having the flu vaccines done at the same time - you can still claim - I dont use these vets anymore either - so just called them - they will have records of what you had done - it does help if you have your reciepts but its not mandatory as vets have the records - I dont even have two of the horses!! Just go back to the vets and ask for your money back - if they say no - just say you are entitled to the money via the sale of goods act - and if you dont get it back within 7 working days - you will be happy to take it to the small claims court (becasue you would win without doubt dont worry)

they will give you it back - they dont have a choice!! and dont let them fob you off with - oh we need the oney off the manufacturer - your sale contract was with the vet not the manufacturer! xx
