to all those who do like a bit of hiVis the next thing might be!

She would struggle as it sits on the outside, but it is washable!
I love it, red seems sensible, but I love the green.
I used the polite stuff but it only lasted a few months.

I think its a fantastic idea. I would get one and use it but the only thing that puts me off is the price. Its alright saying how much is your own and your horses life worth, but i still wouldn't buy one at over £100.

I'm shredding bits of hi viz vest to clip to his tail for crossing the road in the dark to get to arena. If it was cheaper the lights look like a great idea.

You could get a very similar result by using a couple of the battery operated Xmas lights with led lights on ( £3 each or less) :D in fact I was really tempted to do this last year as a festive touch.

Hmmm, not sure about these. Good in theory but agree with poster who said they could see a horse seriously panicking especially in high alert mode (the lights not the horse!)

Why would anyone ride in the dark on the roads in the UK unless they have a death wish. Saw somebody at 6am this week with dirty high viz and nothing reflective on her horse. Stupid!

Another point is that $7.5k has been raised so far to fund this project - a bit like Dragon's Den but the inventor needs $100,000 to make them. That said the money raised to date has only taken 2 days and there's over a month to go to raise the remainder of the capital.

I did think that lol. I've got some purple butterly fairy lights that run off AA batteries. And Barry does have a lot of purple stuff...

Once I get the $100K, I d be off to Barbados, to heck with horses.
I love them, but would want to pay about £20.00-£25.00, there are quite a few cycle lights and other things one can get for that money.

I like, but far too expensive. I have some carriage lights that are very similar but were far cheaper. I and my Partner have also use battery operated Christmas lights with great results.

Then hnmisty and me are in luck as I've got a few unused ones somewhere and hnm will be using her butterfly ones. :D not sure how that'll work if horse swishes tail though. I'll be looking out for thread titled ' Help, have just sustained eye injury from Xmas butterfly' :o

I've some lights similar to this only much smaller and lighter, think they came from Lidl actually, that I can tie into the tail. http://www.clasohlson.com/uk/Sigma-Cubrider-II-Rear-Bicycle-Light/31-5012. Not got around needing to be using them yet though. (We bring across the road from some grazing, incorporating 25 yards of a very little used road, is more for the benefit of cyclists than cars)

I've got a reflective tail guard with flashing LED lights on, much simpler and cheaper. I only hack on private land but there is a road that gets a small amount of use, so I make sure I am lit up like a Christmas tree at night.
