My young horse cut his fetlock badly nearly 6 weeks ago.Vet used hosing, intricite ,soft wrap and vetrap.Box rested just walked to grass twice a day,for first week then same but no intricite second week, then quiet riding still stabled24/7 for third week.Managed to compete at winter dressage champs[never lame on it]then thought we would give him a week turn out at night in during day and only hacking out, still in bandage to keep clean although it looks healed didn't want it knocked .Any way this week started back in full work and a bit of jumping [ only 3 times through small grid] fine then left bandage off and just booted while in field at night but leg has swollen again[reduces quite a lot after exercise]
Last night bandaged again and this morning looks good again. He feels great to ride but what would you do, keep bandaging for awhile longer, leave it off and let it swell or do you know of any boots that would work.
He does swell very easily

I would seek veterinary advice (even if you just phone him/her). Personally I would be tempted to take the bandage off. I don't think it is good to have bandages on all the time. Then you could see how it responded. You might have to oversee it for a couple of days to see what happens before swelling goes down (keeping it mobile)......But I am just guessing really, personally I would follow vet's advice....

Sorry, not much help.....
