my coloured has had 3 baths over the winter..

i just do it as quickly as poss, rub furiously with towels then wrap him up in a wicking rug, and a thermatex on top.

i'm so fussy about bathing, i don't do it till the weathers warmer, but then again i don't do showing..... so its up to u really

I use warm water in buckets and do it step by step and keep the rest covered with a rug. I personally wouldn't go near them with a hose, but know many people do.

I don't think you have a choice apart from to not go if you don't bath! As others have said, warm buckets of water, vigorous town down and rug and keep walking. lane is fine, thats what we do

you'd just have to do legs again the morning of the show.

So early for showing - where is it? good luck!

I can't get away with not bathing my grey mare cos she rolls in poo and mud so in winter it's warm water in buckets and I just spot wash.

I always used to fill two buckets tot he top with hot water and have several of cold water handy. I used a mix of both to wet and lather being as quick as I could, then repeated the same to rinse.
If you have a wicking rug (comfort zone are fantastic for this) use that , or a quick tip is lie a couple of bath towels under the rug for fifteen mins so they absorb most of the moisture, then remove and add a dry rug.
We also have an infra red light bulb you can buy from the local ag merchants, that helps dry off in the warm.
I think bathing is fine provided you are quick and rug them well afterwards.

i've bathed mine!! just keep boiling plenty of kettles

i keep a wicking rug on standby and get it over and done with quickly, them rug up and onto a nice thick bed!! never had any probs with this.
