Hi Im new here and ive been thinking recently what to do. I'm a 21 yr old Girl and have had a lot of experiance with horses. I'd love to become a farrier but i got told once that its really hard to get into if ur a girl! is this true and has anyone got any advice for me on how to getin to this carer??

we have a lady farrier thats started coming to our yard shes just qualified shes about 23 yrs old i think... her names sarah pinnion... be good to speak to a girl who is already a farrier... lots of horses dont like men, thats why my friend got sarah out to do her ex racer and shetalnd cross welsh...

Go for it girl!! Don't be put off just cos its been a man thing in the past. As long as you were good I wouldn't have an issue dealing with a female farrier!

There are two female farriers around here and apparently they are both very good (coming from my farrier) so go for it! Good luck!
