I can't decide if I want to do a couple of BE events this year or not..

I wouldn't go enough to get full membership so would go on tickets if I did do some.

I would really like to do a PN on him, just for the ride XC really, as his dressage isn't good enough for us to get placed I wouldn't think.

I'm just not sure I can justify spending that amount of money for a ride round! so should I stop being so tight and get doing, or just stick with my show jumping and hunting?? I do really enjoy eventing but haven't done any for a couple of years so i may have lost the bug/forgotten how much fun it is!?

Someone tell me what to do??

Well I reckon, on a ticket £100 per event depending on how far you travel, absolutely no chance of winning decent prizes and because you are on a ticket you have a high chance of being balloted.

If you can afford it then go for it.

I'm sure you could find a couple of non BE ODE's. The pony club sometimes do open ones I think, try that first it would be cheaper!

I was thinking along the lines of £100 an event.... a lot of money!! My hunting has gone up to full subs now too, seems I can't get away with student discount anymore!

Why do horses have to be so blumin expensive!

They don't seem to have any PC ODE's around BE courses near us (yorks) but if anyones knows of any then please tell!!??

Open pony club events near us are harder than PN!! They seem to be more like PN height but a lot more technical, not sure if we can do technical!

go for it and do some BE... so much better organised and run! if you are in yorkshire like me most have been cancelled recently agh!

I restarted eventing a few years ago ( before intro was invented) and entered and practised our dressage went out jumping newcomers etc and was feeling really good.
Wewent the night before to walk the course and OMG it looked enormous! (Bradwall PN) anyways went the next day and sailed round, cue the biggest grin and the best buzz for years.
It well worth it if your boy will zip round the xc.

God I've never been at Newcomer standard before doing a PN!!

Thing is, I don't really want to spend so much money to do an Intro, I've only done one but that was pretty small, but then PN pics posted on here seem quite sizable so don't want to throw him in at the deep end!

Show jumping he will be fine, BE courses would suit him as I find they are a bit simpler and more substantial looking than BSJA, but he hasn't done that much XC (just lots of hunting and TC).. I might just go for it, i fancy a challenge!

Our other horses have managed to go strait into PN without intro so I don't see why Badge wouldn't cope, he is a very established and capable jumper so I'm sure he'll manage!

Right, need to get organised and send off for some tickets!
