Ok, you have a good mare, lots of compliments on her, been asked to consider breeding her etc. She is competing at 1.10, say eventing pre novice successfully with fabulous paces. Coloured to boot and very thoroughbredy type.
Next thought is possibly a foal as possibly a future horse.
What age do you think you would breed to maximise competitive career and having a foal? (there will be no rider for a while and currently no handler so totally hypothetical!)
What sort of stallion, fine mare, 16hh, would want something an inch or two bigger, not much.
I would have thought a 3/4 tb or an ISH, don't want to add cobbyness as it is one of her features I think that she isn't at all cobby.
Possibly add a little boldness in the jumping attitude.
Thoughts?
And what would be standard for a foal requirements, a box, what size? Woul dit be necessary to have full doars to prevent foalie climbing out? Individual turnout with what sort of fencing, does it matter if on a hill or flat?
You have, gelding etc. for a future foal, is it best to have a foalie companion?
thanks for all the answers in advance!
