Hi all,

I'm looking at buying a pony at the moment and had planned to travel a large distance to go and see the pony. However, since speaking with the owners again, she told me the pony has a lump on her near fore and has had it from bieng a weanling but has caused no problems .
She sent me a photo so I wanted your thoughts.

She also mentioned the rings on her hooves and said these were caused by a change in diet and not lamenitus and that I could speak to the farrier.

I would get her vetted before buying BUT I wanted others thoughts before I make the long jounrye to go and see her.

I want to show the pony at county level and do riding club activities with it so the final pony has to be right. Would like some advice/thoughts.

(hopefully you can see the photos)

The feet do look like dietary changes but the pastern injury would put me off if county showing is the main aim, it is very obvious in both photos and will not be missed by a judge, it could restrict her movement and may be prone to arthritic changes.
If just for RC and is priced accordingly, you love riding her and she passed the vet it would not bother me so much, I bought a horse with a similar injury, he was cheap, stayed sound but it did get noticed and could effect his placing when shown.

Sigh :(

That was my thought too but wanted to check with others.

Shame because she is a lovely horse but my main enjoyment is showing so I don't want it to have problems before I've even done anything with it.

Thanks for your thoughts.
