So I need to get an outsiders opinion on things....

Long story short, my old pony was sadly PTS earlier this year - after I sold her on (regrettably)- due to severe liver posioning, and I have since said I would like to eventually find another one like her - go to the sales etc as thats where she came from.

So the other day while spending a horsey day with a friend, she gets a phone call about a horse that a friend of hers is trying to sell, and wanted her to take it on sell for X amount and anything over, my friend would keep. Friend is far too busy but asked if I wanted to take it on. So off we went to go see said pony. And my god was she a spitting image of my old mare. Same height, breed, looks and even similar temperament from what I could gather. Rode her, rode very similar to old pony, even same little quirks. (This is all after I mentioned to friend about wanting to find another mare like mine, so heart is now thinking "It's Fate!!")

My head is telling me no, dont take her on as I will get too attached and end up keeping her for myself. And then my head says no to that because can I really afford the upkeep. But sat here and worked it out and I would be able to if I dont buy anything other than what needs to be bought (with bare minimum left over)

But then my mum offers to buy her for me, and my heart lept at the idea.

Am I expecting this mare to be too similar to my old pony? Does anyone think I am trying to find the similarities rather than let this mare be herself?

Opinions please. Really want to make the right decision for this girl. Sorry for rambly post.

Im sure I would be able to as she is only down the road from me. I suppose a good thing is that I am going on holiay next week so will give me time away to really think about it and talk it through with my boyfriend.
