Did my first workers with my youngter today was a very good boy and cleared the course, my mistake took him over an extra! and by the end he was dripping in sweat he's quite fit but he's a cob and i brought him in from the field before and he was dripping again! i have been contemplating clipping him for a while but i still want to show

what do you think?

It was roasting today, so hardly suprising he sweated up to be honest. Our warmblood sweated up yesterday on a light evening hack, so dont feel you are alone (and the extra excitement probably didnt help much!).
Its too late to clip if you want to show (his new coat will be coming through by now) so sponge him down, and while its hot, try early morning orlate evening to ride.

I wouldn't clip if you want to show, like joeanne said most of our horses are sweating alot at the mo...I'd think there was something wrong or they weren't working if they weren't sweaty!!

Just be sure you make them comfortable after (good sponge down) and ensure they are drinking lots.

^^ Agreed its too late to clip now plus if it does drop in temp or we have some summer showers you don't want to have to rug up

I always ride early morning or late evening in the summer and if I've planned to go to a show and it s super hot I just don't go as I don't think its fair to the horse.
