Ponio is definitely a bit overweight, I've had him 2 months and according to people on the yard he is slowly losing weight

For the past month he's been out 24/7 on quite poor grazing, and has been having a 1/4 scoop of Happy Hoof a day. He is ridden or lunged 4-6 days a week (ridden for an hour ish, lunged for just over half an hour with lots of stopping and starting because we haven't quite got the hang of it yet

Here's recent photos:

Yesterday he was moved to a field that has been rested for 2 weeks so has a bit more grass, so should I stop the Happy Hoof altogether? (yesterday I just gave him a handful, feel a bit mean giving him nothing!!)

Thanks!

Ooo he's handsome isn't he??

Absolutely no hard feed at all would be my advice. Especially if he's moved on to better grazing. Once he starts putting weight on you will never shift it.

i wouldent give him and hard feed at all, the grass will be plenty! my mare is on just grass, then is in during the day and given hay that has been soaked to reduce the sugar content. poor pony is on a diet! If only there was a happy medium between poor doers and elephants like my pony!

What a lovely looking lad.
I personally would feed nothing but grass he has better grazing now so would probably get the same if not more from this grass than he did with HH and poor grazing if that makes sense otherwise he will keep gaining weight, good luck!
