I'm after advice or a big kick up the bum. Not too sure which one. I have never gone hunting before. I really want to but i'm not sure what to expect. any advice, stories or tips would be much appreciated. xx

DO IT! You never know until you try and you will probably have a whale of a time. Everyone is generally really friendly and if you really aren't enjoying yourself you can let someone know you are going and ride back to your trailer. I would recommend going on a weekday for your first time as it is quieter and there are no children. Also put a strip of green electrical tape around your horses tail so that everyone knows you are a newcomer and to give you space (meant to be ribbon but that always falls out). If you are going to do it then get your ass in gear and go cubbing before the opening meet as it is a much slower pace and cheaper! Good luck let us know if you decide to bite the bullet.

yeah go on its good fun. I had neve done it until 3 years ago. Not even that good a rider but enjoyed it even tho I went sailing past the hunt master 5 times (OOPS)
I went about 3 times that year and did 2 boxing day meets.

Then decided I prefered fun rides as less hanging around in the cold

Awwww I really want to go hunting! But seeing as Harry is 2 and not yet broken, is a way off yet!! Go for it and let me know what it's like

Do it! As everyone says you don't know until you try. I took my current horse for the first time last year and will subscribe this year I enjoyed it so much.

Hunt!!!
Check with your local pack to see if they are taking part in the 'Newcomers week' (10th - 17th Oct), if so you may get a free morning's autumn hunting with other people new to the game.
Let us know how you get on
