but need to find care for my 3 dogs.
We have asked family and friends if they'd mind but no-one wants to take them on.

Although OH's parents said they'd have 2 of them I dont really want to split them up.
Just wondered what your experience of boarding kennels were really having never put my dogs in before? And any reccomendations for any boarding kennels in the Buckinghamshire area?
Thanks in advance

Some kennels are rank...but there is some really nice ones...find all the ones closest to you and have a good inspection...it's always nicer to leave a few rather than one on it's own...Ithink they tend to stress more when alone.

I don't use kennels...as I have my mam...and I do home board alot of dogs...because owners have had bad experiences putting their dog in kennels...but there are always good and bad

When we have gone away we have used a dog/housesitter. Quite expensive but if you have 3 dogs then maybe no more than kennels. Although it's a bit late notice, you will probably find someone, as the good organisations have many approved sitters on their books. The internet would be the place to start.

ive kennel my dogs twice while on holiday and the kennels i used were great and they even took my whippet who had a spinal injury and they done exactly what i asked for...but there good and bad ones so you need to look around in your area...recommendations from other people is a good start

but you could try dog sitters
or petpals which ive been told is good but never used

I agree that kennels vary a lot, I have been lucky and only put my dog in kennels for 1 long weekend. I asked several people who had dogs and they all reconmended the same kennels, they were a fab kennels and took great care of her. I would ask some of the local dog walkers and your vets for reconmendations.

My friend used to work with the cats at out local kennel, it has since been taken over and I would never leave my dogs there. I lot of people's dogs loose weight as they are not being fed properly, the kennels are in a horrid state and they even lost someone's cat, so definetely check out the kennels first.
