Going Autumn hunting tomorrow, meet at 8am. It is going to be a chilly start (foggy) but will warm up later. So do I layer up and get hot later or start off cold ( I feel the cold) hoping I warm up later? My horse doesn't have a good walk so will be jogging which will help to warm me up. Last time I went out I was cold for the 1st hour but that was a 7am meet.
I normally wear- vest top, shirt and jacket. Jacket is not very thick at all.

Hmmm, tough one. I don't like to be cold but I don't like to be too hot either!

Will it be a busy morning or a standing around morning? It shouldn't be that cold I don't think, so I'd be chilly and then warm up. :)

I think it will be a standing about morning. I hate being cold but hate being hot too. I think I'll wear what I normally wear. I can always go warmer next time.

Thanks all.

Do you have a thermal Tshirt? They are fab, they keep you warm but wick away moisture if you get hot.

I always wear one under my stock shirt out hunting.

At this time of year I wear shirt and tie, thin cashmere V neck jumper and tweed coat (quite thick). I can live with being warm but not freezing.

'Proper' hunting is hunting shirt and stock, V neck lambswool jumper or waistcoat depending on time of year/weather and thick wool hunt coat.
