I have been trying to sell one of my horses with no luck despite the fact that she is fantastic and reasonably priced. My friend really likes her and would love to buy her but can't afford to buy her at moment due to uncertainty in job. She has asked if she can loan her with a view to buying her when job sorted. She would keep her at my yard and I know she would be fantastically looked after. Same friend loaned a horse off me before and I trust her completely to do best by horse. However.... Out of the 4 horses I have she is the only one who other people can ride safely. (Others think its great fun to run off, buck and generally be daft with people who don't ride them how I do.) I could also really do with the money from selling her or other one but if sell other one I will want to keep her and friend will be gutted. Oh why do horses make us feel so bad. What would you do? Thanks and sorry its so long.

Sell one of the others then let your friend pay to be a sharer, even a smal contribution would help your finances.

Agree with this: if your friend can pay a little to share it might be useful to build up a reserve to keep in hand, and then when your friends job is sorted and if she still wants to buy her then you could perhaps use this lump sum to look at buying another...
