When I say lunge I mean bribe with choccies someone experienced to do it for me because I only had my first go at it yesterday with an experienced horse and he knew I had no clue and decided to have a bit of fun with me
Since I bought my 5 year old a few weeks ago I have only managed to get a ride on him once due to the weather and because I've been so busy so he's had no work since then. He has not had much schooling and is understandably a bit wobbly in the school as he doesn't have a lot of muscle or balance yet. I'm not a hugely confident rider, I will get on other peoples horses etc if I know they will be ok but with my own for some reason I'm being a bit ginger with everything I do, think its because he is so new to me.
So he was turned out and then because of the mud and hard freezes we've had a lot of the horses at the yard in since Christmas eve. I'd like to get back in the saddle soon but i'm not sure if he'll be full of beans and start broncing like a nutter or if he'll be just as he was before - quiet and gentlemanly. So would you suggest I lunge for a couple of days before getting on?
Polo's, mince pies and your fav xmas tipple if you can stand to get this far!
