I mostly mane rake mine as she's a dancer and pull little bits out from the edges to avoid bog brush tail. If she will stand just pull it do sections a day at a time as it might get sore then keep on top of it every couple of weeks or so

DO NOT CLIP UP THE SIDES OF HER TAIL - let this be a warning to you, I will hunt you down :-) x

Pull, even for showing, a smart pulled tail looks better than a badly plaited one, plus it will look smart for jumping too.

Lovely horse by the way.

I vote for pull... And pics :) so I can decide whether to do my boy.

What I really want to know is how did you do the picture on your signature with the black and White background and your horse on colour... It's really effective.

Not that it would work on mine he,s a piebald lol...

It was done by an app on the iphone. You just choose what you want in the original colours or what you want in black and white. The chestnut isnt enhanced thats her natural colour :D The orginal pic looks alot better, the sig isnt really doing it justice, need to re do it!

Oh, no, don't pull it - it looks lovely as it is.
I can't understand why people think its great to pull hairs out. We all worry about badly fitting tack or rugs that must hurt our horses, yet we seem not to mind when it comes to yanking hairs out.
It hurts! Have you ever tried pulling your hair out rather than going to the hair dressers - thought not!
A lovely full tail is special and looks good. It does a good purpose of protecting their bottoms from the elements. If you can't plait a tail, then practice. A lovely plaited tail is good horsemanship and does gets admired.
A pulled tail quickly looks like a bog brush of you do it wrong or leave it too long.

Don't pull it.
