Have just aquired a Suffolk Punch x TB for my partner. He currenty has a long scraggly mane. As a result of being in v little work for a year he also has no neck which is exaggereated by said mane. In 2 minds (with winter coming too) whether to pull to smarten him up or leave him au natural.

Opinions welcome.

P.s he is quite a stocky chap with a draught head will try and get pic up

Trim the length at least so that it will grow better, then you can either let it be natural or pull, if you just leave it the chances are it will just stay straggly and thin which in my opinion looks messy whatever type of horse.

Pull. Or trim using a thinning blade to the desired length. I'm
confident (even without seeing him) that it will transform him for the better :)

Love a nice tidy mane :) Long ones are nice, on the right type of horse - usually Arabs, Andalusians and decent Cobs.
