The week before Christmas I had to get the vet out for Vienna as she hurt her front leg, not sure what she done, she took her (pull on) over-reach boot & shoe off & had loads of nasty cuts on her forearm & around her knee, her cannon was swollen & she was obviously sore around the cuts though was sound. Called the vet & he gave us a course of antibiotics & anti-inflammortories, the swelling went down & I thought she was fine, however her cannon is still swollen in the morning, after she has been out or exercised it is fine, she is still sound & the cuts seem to be healing OK, I called the vet again this morning & he said it could be cellulitis or lymphangitis & suggested another course of antibiotics, to get to my point is it OK to ride her while she’s on them? when she was on the first course I didn’t ride her but as she’s sound & not really bothered by it I was wondering if it would be OK, what do you guys think?

My gut instict would be to say yes as riding would help to reduce swelling. However, I know cellulitis and llympangitis are or have the potential to be extremeley painful for a horse so I would ask your vet for his/her advice on the riding issue.
