I have a 3 turning 4 kwpn which is bred to show jump I have had her since she was 6 months old she is so well to do and is broken but turned away. I had a bad injury after I bought her on another horse which left me paralysed for 3 months. I am due a baby in 2 months time and have a 4 yeAr old boy who I missed whilst I was paralysed for that time. My question is do I sell my youngster to be on the safe side or do I keep her? Weighing the cost the risk and her breeding and potential I think I have convinced my self to sell.

Just wondered if any one has been in this position and can help me decide ?

Will you ever want to show jump her? is she safe enough for you? Providing you probably dont want to get hurt?
What would you want to do with her?

Given everything you have been through and being the mum of soon to be, 2 little ones, it would be more realistic to let the youngster go and look for a pleasant mature riding horse that can cope with an erratic life style and be the same regardless of being ridden once a week or once a month.

I have not been in your position so the above comments are just my thoughts on how a family and a horse could be doable for you.

Thanks for replies I don't think I would risk jumping deep done but I know if I did I would get the big again.

Also I can't see how I would fit everything in with two children and their hobbies etc

It's kind of a life of guilt as in when I'm not riding I'll feel guilty on the horse and when I am I will feel guilty on children.

Hmmm so hard and he's such a nice boy but if I was injured badly again I would be stuck ! My back and pelvis will never be right from the fall before let alone another one. A horse landed on me that's how it happened but I suppose there's the saying you could be hit by a bus!

You would have to word your advert carefully and be prepared for a sharer to want to compete and bring the horse on. Or you could sell the youngster and look for a steady neddy to share with it's owner.

Teesside I am at.

I think I just think to much but what would happen if it happened again I love my horses but not enough to risk not being able to bring my children up which I would never of said before that serious accident. I can deal with little falls however that made me realise that I am breakable. Youngster reared up and flipped over backwards on me. My young one I dare say would not do that

So hard making decisions that you fear you might regret
