I just wanted to post a message to thank all the knowledgeable bods who post on this forum. I'd been having some trouble with my mare suddenly being unable to balance in the trailer and falling about. It made me dread taking her anywhere and she would come out of the trailer stressed and often with cuts and bruises.
So I turned to the forum to see if there was any help and it turned out that there was a wealth of experience and advice. Mostly to take out the partition and try an extra thick layer bedding. So today I did exactly that and the difference was amazing! I'm lucky enough to have a camera in the trailer and previously I could see her throwing herself against the partition on left hand bends (no matter how slowly and carefully I drove) and throwing her head about. Today she parked herself on the left hand side and had no problem balancing, she was calm with no scrabbling and no head throwing. When she came off she was chilled and happy.
So I just wanted to say, without the forum, I would never have known to try that (as it seems to go against what logic would dictate) and would have had a horse I wouldn't dare travel anywhere.
So thank you very much indeed!
