How do you draw dapples on a horse because i have been finding it very difficult because i really like dapple grey horses but i can never seem to get the shape of the dapples right.
Pictures please :)

Hi, try re-posting in the art thread - i haven't tried doing a dapple but if you overlay a square grid over your picture and draw a similar grid on your drawing it helps get the markings right. :-)

You can't really 'draw' dapples, but you can shade them in, and yes, there is a minor difference in my mind :p
Simple solution really is to find some reference photos & spend a lot of time looking at them first, before trying to replicate what you see. What medium you use will change how you go about it somewhat. The shape of the dapples will also vary from horse to horse :) This is one of the heaviest dappled horses I've drawn, and his dapples were quite small & odd shaped, quite jagged, http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...91382407.30165.152982448049558&type=3&theater but others have more regular, rounded dapples. :)
It's more about training your eyes than your hands! :D

Get lots of photos and practice copying them. When I get to the pc I will try to post some examples, but dh has done more fleabitten greys than dappled.
