So, long story short. When I bought my pony he needed a lot of work. Hes now a million times better and thrives off work. So I decided to get a sharer for him due to me working full time and doing an Open University degree. It was just too much to ride him as much as her needed.
I advertised in summer and had lots of replies but not a single person suitable. Until 2 weeks ago when I found the most perfect sharer ever! She is fab, perfect for my boy and can only manage week days during the day which is exactly what I want!
Anyway, she came up Saturday for a semi solo visit. I went up the field to poo pick and let her get on with it. She did great with him and starts officially today.
So getting back to the title! On a Sunday I normal dont do much at the yard as I've had a massive dinner and I'm tired. But yesterday I was thinking that my sharer rode the day before and would be riding the day after and I felt mega motivated! I brought him in and gave him a full groom, rode and jumped him, cleaned out all his buckets, scrubbed and refilled his trough, poo picked the entire field and tidied and swept out both the hay barn and the tack room!
If this is what having a sharer does for you then that is even better!!
Is anyone else more motivated to do stuff with their horse if they only see them for part of the week?
