I am somewhat staggered to see the picture on Toby Coles racing diary of a horse laid flat out on the floor while another horse is jumping the hurdle and the picture tag is 'Toby Coles clears a hedge.' Am I the only one thinking OMG is that horse dead, injured, winded...?! A sentence to sum up the fate of the poor beast might have been a nice idea H+H. Maybe I am over-reacting and missed something in the rest of his blog but what a bad choice of picture.

A little explanation would be nice, wouldn't it!

Or maybe a new caption - 'Toby Coles clears both a fence and a possibly dead horse'...

Blimey!

Thought you may be being a bit sensitive until I saw photo! Definately think it should be queried, if did die (& looks dead or injured), not very nice for the owner of that horse.

Theres a thread in comp riders about it. Owner of horse on there says horse just winded and got up fine. Also says Toby Coles chose picture possibly to show how quick thinking etc you have to be but a note to say horse was fine would probably have been a good idea.

That's good news - shame he forgot to mention it! But the main thing is that the horse is ok. Hopefully we won't forget to tell his readers next time.:)
