Isn’t he ? How did he not win best turned out? (Mr F). I’m not a huge Goshen fan but he is a lovely looking horse and ran well.
I like this super soft going, SFAIAA everyone going home safe albeit very tired. I really wanted Dashel Drasher to win at Ascot. Tbh I really wanted anyone but the Irish (I am very parochial in my racing) but Fakir was a worthy winner.

yes the very soft ground seems kinder to the horses. Plenty put the white flag up when they had enough. It really slowed them down.
i hope the irish dont dominate too much at cheltenham and aintree.
when itv racing put the list of grand national fancies up all of them bar one were irish. I’ve never heard of any of them. Its so hard to get invested when they are horses we are unfamiliar with.

It was nice to have an afternoon without horrific falls, there were some very tired horses but from what I saw nothing was beaten senseless. Gutted for Bristol though, what a brave horse he is.

The upcoming festivals will be an Irish white wash, I always have the week off as an 'end of winter, relax and watch the racing' treat week, but I hate seeing one or 2 trainers dominating which is what it will be this year.

It is possible to follow the Irish racing as well ? they do have the best horses, the racing is more competitive and it means come Cheltenham you know who is likely to win. They will dominate Cheltenham again and the Grand National but they don’t come to the Aintree meeting apart from the big race as they have their own festival at the end of the season which is where all the best horses will be found.
